Michigan Sleep Diagnostic center is now open and serving the needs of patients in the Jackson area.
Owners, Selma and Rangaswami Prakash have resided in Jackson since 1996, choosing to open a business in Jackson because they love the “small town, friendly community with such variety in events.”

Prakash and Selma both come from Physical Therapy backgrounds. Selma has been a physical therapist with nursing home outpatient therapy and home care. Prakash, know as “Kash” to most of his patients has worked for Great Lakes Home Health since 1996 beginning as a physical therapist and currently an outpatient therapy manager. “Prakash has established himself as an extraordinary provider of Health Care and a very talented therapist”, comments William Deary, CEO, Great Lakes Home Health Services, Inc.

They wanted to pursue a business of their own in the medical field and after several months of research were astonished by the statistics of sleep disorders. Over 70 million Americans suffer from disorders of sleep and wakefulness. Over 18 million Americans suffer from sleep apnea and estimated 10 million Americans remain undiagnosed. Over 200,000 Americans are affected with Narcolepsy which is excessive day time sleepiness. Out of which only fewer than 50,000 are diagnosed. “This made us start Michigan sleep diagnostic center to serve this type of patients in our community. We as physical therapists have made difference among our patients and we would like to do the same in this field.”

Michigan Sleep Diagnostic Center, where good sleep is your best health, offers a board-certified neurologist and sleep disorders specialist, state of the art equipment, registered technologies, private home setting bed rooms, following up and community education. Testing is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Grand Opening was held Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Gary Barton, Senior Pastor of Jackson Church of God lead a prayer asking that the business and building be blessed.

Mindy Bradish, President, Greater Jackson Chamber of Commerce and William Deary, CEO, Great Lakes Home Health Services, Inc. cut the ribbon with Selma and Prakash to celebrate the Grand Opening. “Prakash and Selma represent the true American Dream, I was delighted to be asked to participate in this exciting event”, said William Deary.
