The Chamber relies on standing committees to work on various projects; member participation on these committees is essential. Volunteers enjoy a tighter bond with other members, and our volunteers form a nucleus from which Board Members and Officers are chosen. Learn more about each of the committees below.

Ambassador Committee

The purpose of the Ambassadors is to serve as a catalyst between the Chamber, its functions, its staff, members and the general public, to promote and develop new membership and help to create an acceptable atmosphere in which business can effectively network.

Economic Event Committee

The mission of the Economic Event committee is to support the Chamber mission through educational and timely luncheons designed to enhance the learning of the business community while adding value for Chamber members through networking.

Leadership Jackson Advisory Council

Leadership Jackson prepares individuals for leadership roles in various business, civic, citizen and nonprofit organizations within the Jackson community. Leadership Jackson seeks participants with diverse backgrounds to ensure representation of the entire Jackson community. Legislative Committee

The Legislative Committee monitors activities in state and local government affairs to safeguard business interests regarding laws, regulations and other controls that affect business operations. Points of emphasis have included the single business tax, worker’s compensation reform, and other local, state, and federal issues.

This committee meets at 12 noon on the fourth Monday of every month at Jackson County Building - 5th Floor, 120 W. Michigan Ave.

MLK Diversity Committee and Challenge Day

The MLK Diversity/Challenge Day Committee works to help promote community collaboration to reflect Dr. King’s dream and to motivate youth for service and excellence by organizing the annual Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast and Challenge Day, focusing on awareness in youth on how to deal with bullying and self confidence issues.
